"Those of the coast" — for over 80 years the Kostakoak de Bidart has carried on the tradition of the Grand Chistera and Cesta Punta, and trained the champions of tomorrow.

Our history

OVER 80 YEARS OF PELOTA

The Kostakoak de Bidart — "those of the coast" in Basque — was founded in 1942 by four young villagers and a priest devoted to bare-hand pelota. In troubled times, the club helped the youth survive morally through sport.

Since then, many generations have worn the Kostakoak colours in Bare Hand, Pala, Grand Chistera and Cesta Punta. The club has won countless national and international titles, especially in Grand Chistera and Cesta Punta, its two flagship disciplines.

Today it stands as one of the leading development clubs in the Basque Country.
